Fox Sports and Common Goal team up
Collaboration spans FIFA World Cup tournaments in 2022, 2023 and 2026
FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for UEFA EURO 2024™️ and CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™️ this summer and the FIFA World Cup™️ through 2026, joins the Common Goal movement to help make soccer diverse, inclusive, and accessible for all.
Taking the 1% pledge, FOX Sports is targeting 1% of its World Cup coverage in 2022, 2023, and 2026 to share stories from the Common Goal movement in the United States cross-platform and help change the narrative about what soccer can be. As part of FOX Sports’ contribution to the movement, they are co-founders of Common Goal’s Create the Space mental health initiative to unite the soccer community in making the sport a psychological safe environment for everyone; enabling soccer to become a platform to improve mental health outside the game, while improving the culture and support within the game itself.
This summer, FOX Sports, its parent company Fox Corporation and Common Goal are hosting a series of mental health trainings for youth soccer coaches and hundreds of young athletes across the country in select CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™️ host locations including Atlanta, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami and New Jersey / New York. The training series is co-designed by Common Goal and national nonprofit E-Motion and is being led by E-Motion and Atlanta-based nonprofit Soccer in the Streets.
