World Cup winner and adidas athlete Mats Hummels joined the Common Goal movement in 2017. In doing so, he became the second player ever to take the 1% pledge.
Also an ambassador for UNICEF, Mats sees Common Goal as the perfect movement to improve the world around him and believes there is scope for the football industry to do more and become a real force for good in the world.
"I feel we could be doing more to connect the increasing revenues in football to some kind of deeper purpose," said Mats.
"This is what struck me about Common Goal. Through the 1% pledge, we’re building a bridge between football and its social impact around the world."
Mats personally contacted Juan Mata about joining Common Goal and also wants to visit organisations around the world to experience for himself how football is changing lives.
