Megan Rapinoe is an icon of the modern game and was one of the first players to join the Common Goal movement in 2017 alongside fellow USWNT teammate Alex Morgan.
She is a long-time advocate, and has been a prominent sporting voice, in the fight for gender equality, equal pay in sport, and social justice.
As both an activist and exceptional player, Megan has consistently used her platform to exemplify the virtues of the game.
In 2019 she claimed the FIFA Best Female player award and used the stage to encourage those present to use their platform to ‘lift others up’.
In the same year she also claimed the Balon D’or and once again chose to use the award as an opportunity to speak on social issues.
Megan is also an ambassador for our #Proud2Play programme, which helps to provide LGBTQIA youths with safe places to play the game.
On the pitch Megan has two World Cup wins to her name as well as a gold medal from the London 2012 Olympic Games. She also won the Division 1 title with Lyon during her time in France – finishing runner up in the Champions League in the same season.
