Eniola Aluko, an adidas athlete, was the 135th member of Common Goal and announced that she was joining the movement at Web Summit 2019 alongside Common Goal Mentor Eric Cantona – one of her childhood heroes.
Eniola is now retired but enjoyed a hugely successful career, with more than 100 caps for England. She most recently played for Juventus where she won the league and cup double before joining Aston Villa Women as a Sporting Director.
She is a strong exponent of the collective movement at Common Goal and wants to use her position within the game to promote social good.
Eniola recognises the power of being a footballer and hopes her platform and influence can help raise awareness for, and drive change in, a range of social issues.
She is a regular columnist for the Guardian and one of Britain’s leading football voices.
